“The Chosen One” is a portrait of Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter in The Deathly Hallows Pt2, standing in front of Hogwarts as it burns down. This is my first proper attempt at realistic portraiture and in saying that it has been an on and off side project for the last 5 months. I feel that colour breathes life into portraits, so although this is mainly a graphite work, I have used small hints of colour to add another dimension of realism to this portrait.

Sorry for the bad picture quality, because of the paper ive used Harry doesnt look to good scanned, so i took a picture instead . I entered this artwork into an exhibition my school ran for local schools and the wider community, haha and much to my suprise it actually took out the top prize of $1000. XD i almost fainted when i heard that, it won the award for "PSC Award for Most Outstanding Artist" so i guess i can say that all my hardwork and effort has really paid off. Im still looking for some critique although i really dont think im going to try and do another realistic portrait for a VERY long time haha XD

Materials: Enough paper to restore an entire rainforest, watercolour paper, Fabercastle Graphic Polychromos, Fabercastle kneadable eraser, Fabercastle Graphite Sketch Set 2H-6B, Fabercastle PITT Graphite Pure 2900 3B and a truckload of paitence.
Time: 5 MONTHS
